Zoom Lock Fittings

One of the most important parts of extending the life of an AC unit or heat pump is ensuring that the refrigerant system stays clean and dry on the initial install. A major concern is debris entering the system during the installation process. One type of debris is copper oxidation. Copper oxidation is formed during the brazing process. Oftentimes, nitrogen is not used or not given enough time to purge the air out of the line set before brazing. The use of mechanical fittings eliminates this issue. Without the need for a torch, Zoom Lock fittings make for a clean installation without the worry of oxidation build up. See the article below for more information.
